The content he taught was delivered clearly and came with a sense of how we would end up using the material in jobs after graduation. Then there are schools like Rose Hulman or Curtis Institute of Music that specialize hard. They’re very prestigious, but you also have to know about them to even think about going to them. That has mainly been the purpose of the wealthiest schools.

Succeeding in this world will take constant reinvention. It will take disciplined self-learning to grow in the areas where the world is going, rather than waiting for the education system to catch up. It will take endless creativity and adaptability.

Don’t become an entitled brat, whatever your age might be. On the other hand, if you are a hard-working, eager-to-improve person, don’t be afraid to set the standard for how people should treat you, and respect the work you produce for them. Believing in your worth doesn’t make you arrogant.

When you swipe your credit card or sign a contract, you are making a promise. Remember when you were younger, and your friends would say, don’t break this pinky promise? If you have a $20 balance on your electricity bill and don’t pay it, you will be sent to collections, and your credit will suffer. You may be denied housing based on your credit history. You can borrow the money for a large purchase and pay off the balance in full at the end of the month. By doing this, you will pay 0% interest.

A “somebody” at office may proof to be a “nobody” at the time of need.

Things like money, success, getting jobs, using my education, and a bunch of other stuff that I’ve learned the hard way over the past few decades. The pay isn’t worth it, and you won’t enjoy the company of most students. Instead, use VTO and guest lecture at the local community college or university.
